Black and Muslim in Britain Project - Video Series (2017)
Black and Muslim in Britain Project
Co-founded by Sakinah Lenoir and Mohamed Mohamed, it started as a project in 2016 to address the lack of faith within Black History Month. In the following year, in 2017, it was relaunched as a video series during Black History Month for its 30th anniversary.
In the video series, influential Black British Muslims in the arts, sports, academia etc, share on a range of topics, including the essential role of faith in Black History Month, finding love, role models, growing up Black and Muslim, the Black Lives Matter movement, and Islamophobia.
The first season is a collection of 5 videos. In 2018, it was followed by a second season with 6 episodes.
It can be viewed on Youtube or on the streaming service Alchemiya.
