The Mosque was first founded in 1953 by the late Al-Haj Ali Hizzam, a house transformed into a mosque, Masjid Al-Rahma prides itself on being a main place of worship for much of Liverpool’s Muslim community. Now managed by The Liverpool Muslim Society, Masjid Al-Rahma has undergone several projects to increase their capacity, serving 3,000 Muslims in 1974, with Liverpool’s Muslim population over 25,000 now.
Now also a hub for the local Muslim community, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity, Masjid Al-Rahma provides support and plan activities that appeal to their wider community, ranging from study circles, sports events or coffee mornings.
