London Central Mosque, Regent's Park

Posted in:

Building

Located on the edge of Regent’s Park, the London Central Mosque, the land for the mosque was presented as a gift to the Muslim community by the British Government, eventually inaugurated by His Majesty King George VI in November 1944.

Inspired by Islamic architecture, the golden Dome has made it clearly identifiable from far, attracting newcomers, the inside of the dome with engraved sacred geometry from Islamic traditions. A cafe and bookshop onsite, the Mosque holds many objectives and roles, involved in the religious, cultural, and social life of its London community, but also for the wider Muslim community across the United Kingdom.
