Algerian Family at Vauxhall Gardens
In 1851 the family of Algerian Soldier Yousoff Ben Ibrahim was put on display as a part of an exhibition at Vauxhall Gardens. This image was printed in the London News, which commented on the oriental and different appearance of this family; it has also been reported that this is the first appearance of "Mohammedan Females" in England.
Their name is also featured on a poster in the V&A collection (not currently on display).
