1921
Oxford Bus Services
Founded in 1921, City of Oxford Motor Services Limited was an important site of employment in the 1950s and 1960s for immigrants from across the Commonwealth, including Oxford's large Pakistani population. Racialised minority immigrants were often employed to work on buses, railways and in hospitals when white workers left to take on better paid jobs in the car industry (e.g. Morris Motors).
